Self Stick Vinyl Tiles Installation Procedure
PRE-INSTALLATION TIPS:
1. - Select tile
- Measure the total surface you need to cover by width and floor length.
- Determine the number of tiles needed by using the following charts. We recommend that you purchase approximately 10% more tiles in order to cover for mistakes and/or replacements.
- Prior to installation, store the tiles at normal room temperature for at least 24 hours.
- Recommended tools: chalk, string, utility knife, ruler, pencil and thick paper.

2. Mark guide lines (using chaulk line) from centers of opposite wall. Without removing backing, lay rows of tiles in both directions from the center, adjusting if necessary to give the most economical and balanced cutting at borders. After a final check for dust, you are ready to start.

3. LAYING THE TILE:
- Start at the center point. Peel release paper backing from tiles in position, making sure they are flush with the chalk line and each tile is tight against the next tile. - Press tiles against subfloor for good contact. - For best contact, roll the edges of tiles with a wallpaper roller or a rolling pin.

4. FITTING AROUND IRREGULAR OBJECTS:
- Make a pattern out of heavy paper to fit around pipes or other irregular objects. - Place the pattern upon the tile and trace. Cut along trace lines with scissors or utility knife; remove release paper, and lay tile in position.

General Maintence On Dynamix Self Stick Tiles
  1. GENERAL MAINTENANCE:
- Use protective mats in front of all doors leading to the outside. This helps prevent sand and grit from getting on to your vinyl floors. Sand and grit is every floor's worst enemy. Also, if you installed the tile in your kitchen, you should place a throw rug in front of the sink area to catch spills and splashes.
- Install proper floor protectors on furniture legs used on vinyl flooring. Protectors will allow chairs to move easily over the floor without scuffing or scratching. Clean the protectors on a regular basis to remove any dirt that may have become embedded. Do not wax the bottom of furniture legs.
- To keep your floor looking its best, dust mop or sweep floor often. Do not use a household dust treatment chemical of any kind as this may cause the floor to become slick or dull the finish. Simply sweep the floor as needed.
- Do not use excessive water as it may cause damage to your subfloor.
- Pets with unclipped nails may scratch the floor.
- Food spills should be cleaned up as fast as possible with a damp cloth. If necessary, you may use an all-purpose, non-abrasive liquid cleaner.
- Shoe marks and scuffs can be removed by using a spot application of multi purpose cleaner and a non-abrasive scrubbing pad.

2. TOUCH-UP MAINTENANCE:
- If accidental deep scratches appear on your floor, it might be necessary to replace damaged tiles. You should always save excess tiles for replacement purpose. First mark the tiles that require replacement. Then score the tiles diagonally with a utility knife but make sure you do not injure any adjoining tiles. Point a hair dryer about 4 inches from the center of the tile for about 45 seconds, or until hot to the touch, and then pry up the tile starting from the middle. If the tile continues to be difficult to remove then apply more heat until it is pliable and the adhesive releases. If the subfloor surface is still smooth, then apply the new tile; if the surface is rough or uneven, then smooth it with a floor patching or leveling compound, and re-apply adhesive before installing replacement tiles.
- If any edges of an individual tile should release from the subfloor, it usually can be corrected by applying warm air from a hair dryer for 30 to 60 seconds from a distance of about 6 inches. Then step on the edges and remain there for a few more seconds until the re-adhesion takes place. If this procedure is not successful, then the problem may be the result of some foreign particles on subfloor, which need to be removed pursuant to No 6 above.
- You may remove adhesive, chewing gum, crayon, candle wax, and similar type substances by applying ice until it becomes brittle enough to scrub off. The residue may be removed with mineral spirits.
- Extra deep heel marks, replace the damaged tile. - Cigarette burns; if not deep, then procedure number 2 above will often remove them. If very deep, then the affected tiles should be replaced.
