It is our sincere desire that as you read these inspirational bible verses, you would be uplifted and your walk with our Lord Jesus Christ would be deepened.
Jesus gave us the ultimate example to follow in meekness. Jesus who is God, came to this earth and humbled himself in an incredible way by becoming a man. It is important to note that he never at any time ceased being God. But he did lay aside the privileges of deity to experience genuine human conditions, such as sorrow, anger, weariness, and pain (Read Philippians 2:3-11). Yet the most dramatic act of his meekness came when he went to the cross to be crucified. Although he was led away to die, no one took his life. That is because Jesus could have called down legions of angels to rescue him. But instead he "suffered and died" for us. How should Christ's attitude affect the way we treat others? In short, we must put the needs of others before our own. During Jesus' earthly ministry, he always had time for others. We should follow his example. Here is a simple acrostic that will help you keep your priorities in order:
J is for Jesus O is for others. Y is for yourself.
If you put the will of God and the needs of others above your own you will find joy.
Philippians 2:3. Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance, Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves]. Philippians 2:4. Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others. Philippians 2:5.Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus; [Let Him be your example in humility;] Philippians 2:6.Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, Philippians 2:7. But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. Philippians 2:8. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:9. Therefore [because he stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name. Philippians 2:10. That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth. Phillipians 2:11. And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to glory of God the Father.
Amplified Bible Back to message.
While we look forward to the glories of heaven, one thing far outweighs them all: the fact that we will be able to spend eternity with Jesus. Dwight L. Moody once wrote, "It is not the jeweled walls and the pearly gates that are going to make heaven attractive. It is being with God." May that truth inspire you as you live out your life on this earth.
