Yet this passage suggests that our love should not only remain steady but it should also grow. This may seem like an impossible task on our own-and it is. That is why the Apostle Paul says, "May the Lord make your love grow." You cannot manufacture sincere love. Christ's love must motivate and compel you (click here to read 2 Corinthians 5:14). This love, in turn, will help to strengthen your heart, keep you from sin, and make you holy so that you can be guiltless when Christ returns. If your love toward God and others seems stagnant, it is likely you have distanced yourself from the Source of that love.
